Our Therapies
Not all trauma, injuries and mental conditions respond to therapy treatments in the same way. It is important that we considers your symptoms, treatment history, and the goals you have for therapy in order to recommend the right treatment for your specific needs. At Open Heart Clear Mind, we specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) therapies. Listed below are some of the techniques and therapies I use in treatment.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive behavioral therapy is a psycho-social intervention that aims to reduce symptoms of various mental health conditions, primarily depression and anxiety disorders. Cognitive behavioral therapy is one of the most effective means of treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders.
EMDR
EMDR or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is one of the most researched and most efficient therapies for treating Post-traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD. EMDR is a type of therapy that is effective for people who have experienced trauma. EMDR can also be helpful for many other concerns, including dissociation, depression and anxiety.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Dialectical behavior therapy is an evidence-based psychotherapy that began with efforts to treat personality disorders and interpersonal conflicts. Evidence suggests that DBT can be useful in treating mood disorders and suicidal ideation as well as for changing behavioral patterns such as self-harm and substance use.
Mindful-Based Therapy
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is an approach to psychotherapy that uses cognitive behavioral therapy methods in collaboration with mindfulness meditative practices and similar psychological strategies.
Eclectic psychotherapy
Eclectic psychotherapy is a form of psychotherapy in which the clinician uses more than one theoretical approach, or multiple sets of techniques, to help with clients' needs.
Psychodynamic Therapy
Psychodynamic therapy focuses on unconscious processes as they are manifested in the client's present behavior. The goals of psychodynamic therapy are client self-awareness and understanding of the influence of the past on present behavior.
